Staying on the Path of What is Healthy

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Welcome to this meditation, allowing your body to settle into a comfortable position.

Letting your eyes gently come to a close. Allowing your awareness to settle on your body, resting in this moment. Feeling the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.

Noticing any areas where your body might be holding tension. Allowing these areas to gently soften just a little bit. Acknowledging that it is natural for your body to hold tension, especially during difficult time.

Allowing yourself to rest here, noticing how your breath flows naturally and without effort. Observing the natural rise and fall of your belly with each breath.

Knowing that in this moment, there is no need to change your breathing. Simply noticing your breath as it is. As you remain here in stillness, noticing when your mind wants to wander to other things that you could be doing?

Acknowledging that this is natural. Our minds very often seek excitement and novelty. When you become aware that your mind has wandered gently with kindness, bringing your attention back to your breath, flowing in and out right now.

Knowing that in this practice, we are simply here to observe Being aware of what is happening is the essence of this practice. Noticing when thoughts arise in this very moment.

Observing, perhaps, the urge to pursue something, seeking a high that very often leads to a crash. Recognizing these thoughts and feeling just as they are. Knowing that you are doing the best you can right here in this moment.

You're allowing your awareness to settle on the gentle movements of your body. Feeling the subtle rise and fall of your chest with each breath. Noticing any slight shifts or adjustment that your body makes without your conscious effort.

Allowing your body to show you that in this very moment, you are alive and well. Letting your shoulders drop just a little bit, Allowing your jaw to rest and unclench, Letting your forehead soften in this moment of rest.

Allowing yourself to let go of any effort, knowing that this is the key to finding peace right here and right now.

Acknowledging the difficulty that perhaps you are experiencing and staying on the path of what is healthy for you. Knowing that this very struggle shows you that you care about your well-being.

Understanding that each time you return to the present moment, You are nurturing your ability to stay with what is healthy for you in life. Noticing when your mind gets captured by certain thoughts.

Acknowledging that as these thoughts appear, they also disappear with time. Allowing yourself to return to your body, resting in stillness. Feeling your body fully supported just as it is in this very moment by the ground beneath you.

Knowing that as the ground fully supports you every day, Your breath too supports you every day of your life, keeping you alive and well. Gently allowing your awareness to come back into the room and the space around you.

Remembering as you continue your day that in each moment of awareness, you find the stillness and clarity that guides you from within. As you feel ready, gently and slowly, allowing your eyes to open.
