Embracing Change
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow.
— Lao Tzu
Welcome to this guided meditation for embracing change. Allowing your body to settle into a comfortable position. Letting your eyes gently come to a close. Noticing as your breath flows in and out without effort.
Feeling your body gently move as you breathe in and breathe out. Allowing yourself to be here fully in this moment with your breath. Observing the rise and fall of your chest with each breath.
There is no need to control your breath. Simply letting it be and allowing yourself to let go. When your mind starts to wander, gently acknowledging this and returning to the sensation of your breath.
Remembering that it is natural to get carried away by thoughts, Allowing yourself to return to this present moment with kindness for yourself.
Allowing your attention to settle into this present moment, Becoming aware of what is happening right now.
Observing any sounds that are here with you in this moment. Noticing the surface beneath you, supporting you right now. Feeling the temperature of the air on your skin. There is no need to analyze these sensations.
Allowing yourself to observe them with openness. Becoming aware of the changes that occur all around you and within you. Noticing how sounds come and go. Observing how feelings in your body change from moment to moment.
Embracing these changes as a natural part of this present moment. When your mind drifts off, gently acknowledging where it has gone And then allowing yourself to remain here in this present moment with your breath.
Allowing your awareness to turn inwards to your emotions. Noticing any feelings that are present within Observing feelings that may be pleasant or perhaps unpleasant. Allowing these feelings to be here in this moment just as they are.
Noticing any resistance or discomfort and reminding yourself that it is okay to feel this right now. Embracing these feelings with compassion, understanding that they are part of your human experience.
When you notice your thoughts pulling you away, gently with empathy and patience for yourself, Guiding your awareness back to your emotions.
Becoming aware of any thoughts that are passing through your mind. Noticing these thoughts as they arise, linger, and eventually fade away. Observing these thoughts with the knowledge that they are thoughts.
Allowing yourself to be separate and aware of these thoughts as they are. When you notice yourself getting caught up in a certain thought. Gently bringing your awareness back to the act of observing the thought as a thought.
There is no need to judge yourself for getting carried away by a thought. Embracing this process with kindness and patience, knowing that getting lost and returning to the present moment is the very essence of this practice.
Continuing to observe your breath, sensations, emotions, and thoughts, recognizing that change is a constant in life.
Acknowledging that each moment brings something new. By becoming aware of these changes, you can embrace them with openness.
Affirming to yourself that it is okay to be exactly where you are right now. There is no need to rush or or force anything to happen. Allowing yourself to rest in the awareness of this moment, embracing change with an open heart.
Gently allowing your awareness to come back into the room and the space around you. Noticing how your breath continues to flow naturally and without effort.
Feeling how your body rests in this moment, fully supported by the surface beneath you. Acknowledging how when your body finds rest in stillness, your mind can rest in peace.
As you prepare to continue your day, acknowledging that change is a natural part of life all around you and within you. As you feel ready, Gently allowing your eyes to open.
